Peter wrote to us, commanding us to always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks us to give the reason for the hope that we have, and to do it with gentleness and respect. (1 Peter 3:15)
Forgive us, God, for keeping a fearful silence because we are unable to explain ourselves.
Forgive us for turning people away by our arrogance, and by depicting those who question our faith as fools instead of respecting their search for truth.
Forgive us for failing to set an example of honest, respectful, humble conversation aimed at seeking truth and making wise decisions for our churches, communities and country.
